Richard E. McCarthy, M.D.

Richard E. McCarthy, M.D. is co-founder of the Arkansas Spine Center. His special interests center on pediatric orthopedic disorders, spinal disorders in children and adults and hip disorders in young adults. He received fellowship training in both spine surgery and pediatric orthopedics from Harvard University. In addition, he finished a residency at Northwick Park Hospital in London, England. Dr. McCarthy has nearly 100 publications and scientific presentations to his credit on a wide variety of spine and pediatric related topics. He is an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society and is currently in line to be President in 2009. He is also involved in organizing scoliosis training programs for school nurse screeners, pediatricians and family practitioners around the state.
