Bone and Joint Action Week

Bone and Joint Action Week is an annual global event that focuses on orthopaedic disorders and issues to help raise awareness on prevention, management and treatment. At Arkansas Specialty Orthopaedics, we provide quality care and treatment in this specific area. We’re set apart from other practices in the state because of our set of 18 fellowship-trained surgeons who treat injuries, diseases, bone alignment, joints and muscles.

Bone and Joint Action Week highlights the following areas within orthopaedics:

October 12 – World Arthritis Day

October 16 – World Spine Day

October 17 – World Trauma Day

October 19 – World Pediatric Bone and Joint (PB&J) Day

October 20 – World Osteoporosis Day

Here are three reasons why musculoskeletal (bone and joint) health is important.

1. Musculoskeletal conditions include back pain, arthritis, traumatic injuries, osteoporosis, spinal deformity and childhood conditions.

2. 54 percent of adults in the United States are affected by musculoskeletal conditions.

3. Musculoskeletal conditions are the most common cause of severe long-term pain and physical disability worldwide, affecting hundreds of millions of people.
